NCAA® Vault
Thought Equity Motion has worked with the NCAA to help preserve and provide access to the NCAA® Collection, which includes 20,000 hours of footage across 88 championships and 23 sports. Thought Equity Motion is the exclusive licensor of NCAA footage for use in films, TV shows, commercials, corporate productions, documentaries and other emerging media applications.

In March 2010, Thought Equity Motion and the NCAA launched a first-of-its-kind video publishing model in which a decade of full-length, classic Men’s Tournament games were published for web streaming at www.ncaa.com/vault. Games were curated with rich play-by-play metadata letting fans search, watch, and share any “moment” with the games. The application tripled site dwell times and led to deep fan engagement across over 6000 individual moments within the games.

Eye Film Institute - Netherlands
As the face of Dutch cinema, both in the Netherlands and abroad, EYE is responsible for managing an extensive and internationally prominent film collection that features 37,000 films, some of which are more than 100 years old. Thought Equity Motion is delivering a major film digitization and preservation project which involves scanning and storing more than 150 million discrete DPX files. (Digital Picture Exchange is the worldwide standard for transferring film images to a digital medium with no loss of quality.) The project cuts the long term data storage costs of EYE’s project by 50 percent, allowing EYE to store master quality files (2K DPX) instead of compressed proxy versions. This is achieved without increasing EYE’s local IT support costs, and in turn enables more of the Dutch national archive to be made accessible for theatrical, cultural, educational, and commercial use.
