The HBO Archives Collection

Thought Equity Motion is the exclusive distribution partner for HBO Archives. Anchored by more than 30 years of entertainment and sports filmmaking, the HBO Archives features thousands of handpicked clips of HBO’s finest motion imagery from special programs, documentaries, wildlife productions and sports.

HBO Sports has earned 64 Sports Emmy Awards, six Peabody Awards and is the only network to receive a distinguished duPont-Columbia University Broadcast Journalism Award for sports programming. Select footage drawn from these productions represents the finest in cinematography and direction.

The HBO Archives Royalty Free collection is drawn from the Time Life Films Wild Wild World of Animals series, which aired 129 episodes over 5 years. Shot on 16mm film, this series employed international cinematographers to shoot amazing animal footage from areas all over the world.

Archival footage in the HBO Archives collection covers the historical events in the first half of the twentieth century. Captured on black & white 35mm film and covering the time period from the turn of the century through the 1960s, the collection contains news reel clips that range in length from a few seconds to several minutes.
