Digital Television

Digital Television is the term used for the new broadcasting standard in the United States. Digital Television is scheduled to replace the analog NTSC format used since 1939. The FCC has approved 18 video scan rates in the United States. Of these, only three are commonly used for broadcast. These include 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Both High Definition (720p, 1080i) and standard definition (480p) video formats can be broadcast using the new Digital Television standard.
